Membership Agreement

  1. Membership Agreement

By signing up for a membership at Becketts Health (referred to as “Becketts”, “we”, or “the gym”), you agree to abide by the terms and conditions set forth in this document. These terms govern your use of the gym facilities and services. Please read them carefully before signing your membership agreement.
  1. Membership Options


We offer the following membership plans:

  • Monthly Membership: Recurring monthly payments.
  • Annual Membership: One-time payment covering 12 months.
  • Minimum Age: All membership holders of the gym must be a minimum 16 years of age


Each membership plan offers access to the gym’s facilities during regular operating hours.

    1. Membership Fees

 

  • Monthly Memberships: Fees are payable in advance by direct debit on the first day of each month. Failure to make payment may result in suspension or termination of your membership.
  • Annual Memberships: Full payment is required at the time of registration. Annual memberships are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
  • Promotions: Any promotional offers are subject to specific terms and may not be combined with other discounts.
  • Payment Methods: We accept payments by direct debit. Debit Card accepted for Day Passes
  • Prices: From time to time, and not more than once per year, the Gym Owners may need to increase the price of your membership fees. Becketts will give at least 30 days’ notice of any incoming price increase and will make it very clear when the price increase will take effect and how much your membership will cost after the increase. During this period, you will have your usual right to terminate you membership in accordance with the membership terms and conditions. If you do not terminate the membership by the date given to us in the notice, then the price of your membership will be increased in accordance with the notice provided.
  1. Cancellations and Freezes

  • Monthly Membership Cancellation: Members may cancel after the 2 months contract period has ended by giving at least 30 days’ written notice before the next payment due date. Cancellation must be submitted in writing by email or a letter handed to a member of staff.
  • Annual Membership Cancellation: Annual memberships are non-refundable. Only in extenuating circumstances (e.g. medical condition confirmed by a doctor) may a refund be considered. Proof may be required.
  • Membership Freeze: You may freeze your membership for up to 2 months in any 12-month period for medical reasons, holidays or other personal circumstances. You must provide written notice to the Becketts Health one month in advance. You may incur a processing charge of £3 for each frozen month, For prepaid or term agreements, the membership will be extended for a period equal to the freeze period. A membership cannot be cancelled during a freeze period.
  1. Termination of Membership

Becketts reserves the right to terminate or suspend any membership for the following reasons:

  • Non-payment of membership fees.
  • Violation of gym rules, including inappropriate behaviour or misuse of equipment.
  • Use of false or misleading information when applying for membership.
  • Failure to follow instructions given by gym staff for safety reasons.
  • Acting as a personal trainer for anyone within the gym.

The management reserves the right to terminate or suspend any membership for other reasons they
see fit, in addition to those covered above.

  1. Access to Facilities

  • Operating Hours: The gym’s operating hours will be displayed on our website and at the reception area. Hours may be adjusted on public holidays or for maintenance purposes.
  • Membership Access: Members will receive an electronic entry code through the gym App.
  • Guest Access: Becketts reserve the right to offer promotion periods where members can bring a guest/friend. Members are responsible for ensuring their guests adhere to the gym’s rules and policies.
  • Facilities and Services:Becketts reserves the right at any time to delete, discontinue, repair or replace the facility equipment without any effect on this Agreement. The gym may be closed for up to two weeks each year for maintenance purposes.
  1. Health and Safety

  • Health Declaration: By using Becketts, you confirm that you are in good health and fit to participate in physical exercise. If you have any concerns about your fitness to use our facilities, we recommend consulting a healthcare professional before joining.
  • Personal Responsibility: Members use all equipment and participate in activities at their own risk. Becketts will not be liable for injuries sustained through improper use of equipment or failure to follow safety protocols.
  • First Aid and Emergencies: First aid facilities are available. Please notify staff immediately in the event of an accident or medical emergency.
  1. Code of Conduct

  • Respectful Behaviour: All members and guests are expected to act respectfully towards other members, staff, and equipment. Offensive language, aggressive behaviour, and inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.
  • Equipment Use: Members are responsible for using equipment properly and safely. If unsure about how to use any equipment, ask a staff member for assistance. Equipment must be wiped down after use and returned to its designated place.
  • Dress Code: Appropriate gym attire, including shirts and closed-toe athletic shoes, must be worn at all times.
  1. Personal Belongings

  • Lockers: Lockers are available for use during your visit to Becketts. We recommend using a personal lock. Becketts is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items left in lockers or elsewhere on the premises.
  • Valuables: Please avoid bringing valuables to the gym. Becketts will not be liable for the loss or theft of any personal belongings.
  1. Data Protection

  • Personal Data: By signing this agreement, you consent to Becketts collecting and using your personal data for the purposes of managing your membership. Becketts complies with the UK GDPR and will ensure your data is stored securely.
  • Communication: We may contact you by email, phone, or SMS regarding your membership, special offers, or important information related to the gym. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
  1. Music and Media

  • Music License: Music played in the gym is licensed for public performance.
  • Photography and Filming: Becketts may occasionally film or photograph the premises for promotional purposes. Members will be informed, and participation is voluntary. Members should be considerate if they are filming any part of their workout. No other member should be visible in any photo or video which is recorded. Failure to adhere to this filming policy could have their membership terminated. Absolutely no filming in the changing or spa areas.
  1. Amendments to Terms

Becketts reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes via email or by notices displayed at the gym.
  1. Limitation of Liability

Becketts will not be responsible for any indirect, consequential, or special losses incurred as a result of using the gym. Our liability for direct losses arising out of negligence is limited to the total amount paid by the member in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  1. Complaints Procedure

If you have any complaints regarding the facilities or services at Becketts, please speak to a member of staff or email info@beckettshealth.com. We aim to address all concerns promptly and professionally.
